Apply the concepts of classical conditioning
Apply the concepts of classical conditioning to explain these processes
1) Classical conditioning is evident in real life settings. Choose one of the following scenarios (a) food aversion, (b) the use of popular music/beautiful images in advertising for cleaning products, (c) a pet running to the kitchen at the sound of a can opener or particular sound, (d) sensing hunger when you notice it is noon, even if you ate a late breakfast. Apply the concepts of classical conditioning to explain these processes. Include coverage of unconditioned stimulus, unconditioned response, conditioned stimulus, and conditioned response in your discussion. 2) Describe the process of operant conditioning including the role of positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, and punishment. What is the distinction between negative reinforcement and punishment? Apply these concepts to a real life example. 3) What is social learning theory? Provide examples of how social learning/vicarious learning theory is evident across the lifespan in early childhood, adolescence, and adulthood (provide an example for each of the three stages indicated). In your examples, include at least one scenario where a person learns a positive behavior and at least one scenario where a person learns a negative behavior.
