This week you read and learned about Titchener’s structuralism. As an approach, structuralism attempted to break down consciousness into elements of consciousness for study. It assumed that studying these parts of consciousness would lead to an understanding of the whole.

Briefly compare and contrast structuralism and behavioralism. How did structuralism influence the creation of behaviorism? How has structuralism impacted psychology today? Remember to support your arguments with information drawn from the online content, the textbook, and other credible, scholarly sources to substantiate the points you are making.
