The behavioral blend helps to determine what may be expected of you, and determine who you are/what type of person you are. As a human we all possess different traits you could be someone who shy or influential but may be good at being a leader or making decisions. My behavioral blends on graph 1 shows that I am more of an, I/S type and on graph 2 it shows that my blend is I/S/C, it indicates that I feel that people expect me to be both inspiring and submissive. According to Carbonell and the self-assessment, I tend to show my feelings more openly than others, I feel that people expect me to influence others through my charisma, warmth and support. I like to be recognized for who I am and what I do (Carbonell, 2008). I am seen as a people person, comfortable speaking or entertaining large and small groups. Others see me as a crowd pleaser and loyal friend, some with that I would be more assertive and demanding (Carbnell, 2008).
“Enlarging the conversation” is a term used that means understanding, listening, speaking, or responding to/from a perspective that’s larger than your own. “It’s important to pay close attention to your basic view of communication, because it comes out in your communication behavior (Stewart, 2012).” Identified Need and Intentional Resourcing helps enlarging conversations. Understanding my behavioral blend can play a huge role in my relationship with others specifically me enlarging my conversations. Based off my self-assessment I am comfortable with people, inspiring, influencing, etc. Conversations should be enlarged to help better understand other’s vision and understanding on something. By asking questions and examining resources will help with enlarging conversations, and also you knowing not only your own behavioral blend but others as well will help one come to a mutual agreement and understanding.
