I will discuss how I will anticipate accepting your own mortality. (Romans 6: 21-23; The King James Version) 21:” What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things [is] death 22: But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23: For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. There are 4 grown children and 9 grandchildren in my life. If I were to receive a prognosis, I would get a 2nd opinion, and process it myself 1st… I will tell my family, and then I will say, thank you, I love you, I forgive you and please have forgiveness towards me. I am very self-conscious, of my own awareness of mortality. According to Taubman-Ben-Air & Noy (2010) says “high level of self-consciousness may serve as an internal death reminder, leading to greater cultural worldwide validation on a regular basis (n.p). Of course I don’t want to die, I am not afraid of death or dying. I know I will go through my process of dying stages. 1. Denial: Refusing to believe death happening to me (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015, p.582) 2. Anger: Acknowledges death, devastated by the fact they are dying (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015, p.582) 3. Bargaining: Trying to evade death by doing good (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015 p.582) 4. Depression: Facing the fact that there is nothing one can do to evade or stop death, dying feels a great sense of loss (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015, p.582) 5. Acceptance: as a final stage, “Process of facing death, dying quietly await death without anger or sorrow. (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015, p.582) In addition, “A person, dying, simply expect end of life with emotional neutrality; (To either be alone or not) I’ll take additional steps in preparing for my end of life, to the extent that my cognitive, emotional, physical and financial capacities would allow. I live in middle to late adulthood alone and independently. I have made numerous preparations to be responsible to myself and to elevate any financial burdens to my family once I am forced with my own death (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015, p582). I believe there is a need for me to be very clear, I do not want aggressive care. My advance care planning strategies have been filed with a local hospital, where I live at this time. My medical directive and copies were distributed to my adult children, and placed in my safe deposit box at my financial institute, along with my initial Will, Living Will, and additional personal documents. My Medical Directive, I have in place, will manage the pain I will have or not have. I signed a (PSDA): Patient Self-Determination Act: a DPAHC, is to be removed from feeding tubes, ventilator, and a cardiopulmonary resuscitation order, which is a DNR: Do Not Resuscitate. According to Santonocito, et al (2013) stipulated “To improve the attitude about the DNR order; It is necessary to achieve several goals; such as: increased communication, conscious law, increased trust among patient’s health care systems, and improved standards and quality of care to respect my family’s roles”, as well my own. (n.p). One of my adult children has been notified and assigned my power of attorney (POW). Medically; it will be activated immediately upon the end of life hospitalization. My living will, will convey my other preferred specific end of life situations for myself (My will’s) will request my assets to whom I have chosen to leave them too. My other specifics consist of; What I have already attended too: Paid in advance funeral services to convey my Religious preferences and what hymns I am requesting, during my viewing. (A presentation of my life, as a slide show of my legacy). My burial services will be at my preferred family memorial gardens cemetery. In case my (POW) Power of Attorney cannot fulfill writing out an obituary, I will create my personal identity, to self-reflect, reminiscence and demonstrate in writing the conscious construction of my personal history with one of my favorite pictures to be present after my death. 1 Timothy 6:16 says, “Who only hath immortality dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; who in no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honuor and power everlasting. Amen. (KJV)
