My community is the United States of America in 1918 during the 1st world war. The United States was severely affected by the outbreak of the H1N1 influenza virus in three waves. The influenza virus is the deadliest killer because it registered over 195,000 mortalities within one month. Suddenly, the cities were gripped with fear, Schools, theaters, places of worship, and other public amusement were shattered. At this time, very little information was known about the virus and its transmission (Singh, et al, 2018). The world’s economy reduced by 8% due to the total lockdown that led to the closure of bussinesses and industries such as travel and hospitality. Manufacturing industries had fewer orders due to a decline in purchase power, and shops were closed which caused other people to lose their jobs.

Financial resources can be utilized effectively in purchasing medicine, creating a bigger hospital capacity, and funding research. Basu, et al, (2017), states that human resources are utilized efficiently when there are well-equipped facilities to save lives and when they are offered the appropriate protective equipment.
Are There Gaps That May Pose A Problem?
The gaps that may pose a problem is financial constrain during the pandemic due to poor disaster budgeting, inadequate human resources, and the stagnating economy (Basu, et al, 2017). In the case scenario 3 about school closure and teachers are absent from school, I would advise the parent to develop a home plan for school work and house chores. Parents should communicate with their teacher through the telephone about the remaining syllabus and help them cover it through virtual or online classes. This will keep the children on a busy schedule that will give their parents time to work. After the virtual classes, the children should be engaged in simple house chores. The parents can also buy their children informative videos to watch while they are at home. This will curb the spread of the virus as well as strengthen the bond between children and parents. The children will also grow into responsible adults.
Case scenario 5 describes the increase in the population of the sick including the healthcare professionals. I would recommend the addition of more healthcare professionals by the government. I would also recommend the use of protective gear such as face masks and gloves when handling patients and minimizing contact with them to avoid infections.
