As stated previously, the curriculum (MDC, 2019) has met an overwhelming majority of the following expectations: societal, cultural competence and skills, nurse student, and professional and healthcare system among others. However, it has failed to meet a few expectations. These are nurse student expectation of unhindered flexibility, and professional and healthcare expectation of uniform accreditation. Accreditation is a national issue, requiring policy change at both state and federal levels (Anbari, 2015).

However, nurse student flexibility is a purely Miami Dade College (MDC) issue. The culprit here is the regulation that the student must finish the last semester’s final 30 hours at the institution. Although this is a requirement across the board for all baccalaureate programs at MDC, it is unfair to the mature RN-BSN students who are also employees. To be added on inflexibility is the requirement that the student applicants must have completed 2 years of foreign language in high school, or have 8 credits of foreign language instruction from college or university (MDC, n.d.). This is an unnecessary obstacle to increasing the number of nurses with BSN sorely needed to achieve primary healthcare for all. According to Allison Squires (PhD); although bilingual nurses are a necessity, the law in the US allows use of an interpreter in a healthcare setting (Springer Publishing Company, 2019).
