In your health history and physical examination, what are important areas to address for your chosen topic, according to Healthy People?
The chose topic is vision with the objective being to improve visual health through prevention strategies, early diagnosis, treatment in a timely manner, and rehabilitation. In this case, vision is considered an important topic since it is an essential component of daily life that affects every person irrespective if demographic peculiarity such as age, gender, race and so on. It notes that despite vision being of importance, visual impairment continues to be reported with many more being at risk of either preventable eye injuries or ailments. Given this awareness, there is a need for evidence-based strategies to support medical interventions that prevent blindness and preserve sight (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2018).
What questions would you ask in the health history to get the best information about the patient’s health status in this area?
